In Teeratada Phitsanulok School, wide variety of instructional methods, educational services, and school resources are provided to students in the effort to help them accelerate their learning progress, catch up with their peers, meet learning standards, and generally succeed in school . With this regard, students' wholesome development is really a must . They hone not just the students' mental sharpness but also teach them communicate with the use of English language, which in fact it is necessary to pass the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) before graduating. IELTS is an international standardized test of English Language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. This IELTS is really the highlight of this school since it provides a great opportunity for the students to study abroad such as New Zealand and United Kingdom. Teeratada also develops essential skills that this ever changing world demands such as the 21st Century Skills which are highly seen during their Hoikong and Every day Activities  and lastly but most importantly mold value-laden students of the world in which the school believes in "NO DISCIPLINE, NO WISDOM" . Hence, they firmly and inventively provide variety of  Teaching- learning centers and strategies in order to achieve those ideals.

As what I've observed, generally the teachers at Teeratada utilized various instructional tools and methods that  promote an effective and efficient teaching  and  learning process. They usually integrate traditional and learner – centered approaches such as the Project -Based learning which encourages students to learn and apply knowledge and skills through an engaging experience that presents opportunities for deeper learning in-context and for the development of pertinent skills tied to college and career readiness. I really admire the implementation of Project-based Learning in their school since it is an interdisciplinary pedagogical approach that provides meaningful learning opportunities, helps build 21st-century skills  and provides opportunities to engage students in real-world learning thus it really supports an increase in students engagement and achievement, and helps students develop 21st century skills that they need in order to succeed in their future careers. Furthermore, The teachers are also employing the use of the traditional method such as the lecture method but often incorporate the use of models and illustrations.

The following are some other academic supports that I've seen in Teeratada:

  • Classroom-based strategies: Teachers continually monitor student performance and learning needs, and then adjust what they teach or how they teach to improve student learning.

  • School-based strategies: Teeratada creates academic-support opportunities during the school day, such as learning labs , to increase the instructional time that academically struggling students receive, while also varying the way that instruction is delivered. For example, if students in a course primarily learn in large or small groups that all work at the same pace, students in a learning lab work one-on-one with a teacher and be given more time to practice skills or learn complex concepts.

  • After-hours strategies: Teeratada also provides after-school and before-school programs,  within the school building,  that help students prepare for class or acquire study skills which in fact boarding students are required to study every night except Saturday night from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at study room to review lessons or have an advance study.

  • Outside-of-school strategies: Teeratada works with other Private schools in Thailand which in fact on February 10, 2019, they will be having an academic day  which will provide a variety of programs that are connected to what students are learning in school.

  • Technology-assisted strategies: Teeratada use digital and online learning applications, such as visual simulations and gamed-based learning (quizizz), to help students grasp difficult concepts. Teeratada also offers  robotics and has  computer labs.

In addition to the various support settings and delivery methods described above, some of the academic support at Teeratada also have a specific educational focus or goal.

  • Relationship-based support: In Teeratada, strategies such as teaming or advisories are highly evident which is used to build stronger and more understanding relationships between teachers and students. The general idea is that students will be better served and more effectively taught if teachers know students well and understand their distinct learning needs, interests, and aspirations.

  • Skill-based support: Everyday , Teeratada incorporates reading and communicating skills during Assembly/ Hoikong Activity where students are given sentences of the day in Thai, English and Chinese. They also have support that focuses on math (Math for the Day) and life skills (Life skill of the day).

  • Needs-based support: Many or most forms of academic support in Teeratada are based on identified learning needs. Teeratada provide supplemental or intensive instruction, practice, and guidance to students who are struggling academically or who have specialized needs—these can include students with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or developmental disabilities; students who are learning English or cannot speak English;  or students who are performing academically or developing intellectually well below or above the expectations for their age or grade level. In fact for those students struggling, they can avail the Tutorial Services of the school starting from 6:00 AM until 7:20 AM every weekdays and whole day at Saturdays.
